The Legend Games top 10 BoardgamesWe wanted to share our favoutire board games with you. These are games we play, not just games we sell. In fact, a couple are no longer available but we have listed them anyway. If you can pick up a copy of Vinci, for example, you are in for a treat!
Give us your feedback through the Legendgames Facebook and suggest some great games that you own. We are always on the lookaout for something new to play.
We've only just started this section, so its a bit of a list and no more at present, though we will be adding game info, more pictures and better reviews. In fact, if you can review one of these games please send us your thoughts too - we'll send you a voucher code for the shop if we use your reviews. |
1 - Tigris and EuphratesOur favourite boardgame of the moment is Tigris and Euphrates. Far and away the outright winner in terms of strategy, long-term value for money, enjoyment, and pretty good to look at to!
It's a tile laying game designed by Reiner Knizia. Its in its 2nd incarnation now with an extended board and additional rules that add an extra dimension to the game.
It relies on your skill and strategy rather than luck. |
2 - Puerto RicoThe Puerto Rico boardgame is a very good game. It has long term playability, lots of different strategies to play, very little luck and looks great. This game is ranked in the all time top 5 at BoardGameGeek .com - check it out for reviews, photos and player details. |
3 - Carcassonne - the CityOf all the Carcassonne games, Carcassonne - the City is our favourite. The additional wall building mechanic makes this almost a whole new game. Well worth a visit. |
4 - VinciSadly long out of print. We've played Vinci month in, month out, for 10 or more years. A truely great game. If you can find it, snap it up. Its the superior predecessor to Small World. |
5 - TikalA beautiful boardgame to look at. Great playing mechanics, good fun. |
6 - PowergridIf modern settings for games are more to your liking, Powergrid is a must. A bidding and strategic positioning game. |
7 - El GrandeWe've played El Grande for many years. Great with more players... Set in Medieval Spain, with bidding and strategic positioning. Really good. |
8 - TorresA very good game for 2 players, less so with 3 or 4 as strategies are easily overturned by other players moves. Worth it for 2 players alone. |
9 - NiagaraA great fun game with a real moving river... well not quite real, but the next best thing in a boardgame. You have to use skill, judgement and cunning in this bidding game with a difference. |
10 - KahunaA 2 player game of bridge building and blocking. Very addictive. |
